Tennessee Titans vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Predictions for Week 8

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the way, guarding the gates of consistency. The Titans’ typical plan of attack? Run the (darn) ball. The only problem is that the Buccaneers have the league’s best run defense, averaging 68 yards allowed per game on the ground.
And, it’s not like they haven’t played anyone. They’ve faced Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffery twice, and the likes of Rams RB Todd Gurley and Saints RB Alvin Kamara, as well. It could be tough sledding for Titans RB Derrick Henry.
Can Titans QB Ryan Tannehill turn the page for this franchise? He should, as this is a favorable matchup for him through the air. While the Bucs’ defense holds the title for league-best against the run, they have been atrocious against the pass, allowing a league-worst 304.5 yards per game. Corey and A.J., I’ve got my eyes on you.
As for the defense, this game is — once again — an opportunity to wreak havoc. With the addition of impressive rookie DT Jeffery Simmons, the already stellar unit should force Bucs QB Jameis Winston into a few mistakes.
So, can the Titans capitalize? That’s the age-old question.
Final score prediction: Tennessee 24, Tampa Bay 20
