2nd-3rd Round Picks

The Titans picked Mariota and started looking into the next rounds to help him.

The Titans took mercurial wide out Dorial Green-Beckham with their second round pick. It was a baffling pick then and is still now. Green-Beckham came in with significant concerns on his ability to play in the NFL despite posting elite size and speed.

The Titans needed to take safer players after drafting a rookie quarterback instead of taking flyers on risky players. The Titans could have used that pick on Devin Funchess or Ronald Darby.

Then GM Ruston Webster followed that up by using their third round pick on “tackle” Jeremiah Poutasi, when Tyler Lockett, David Johnson and Danielle Hunter were all still available in retrospect.

While it’s easy to look back and fault the Titans for their decisions, most of the national media didn’t think favorable of the Titans picks. Bleacher Report and Sports Illustrated gave the Titans a “B”, while ESPN’s Mel Kiper gave the Titans a “C+”.
