Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive X-factor: Shaq Barrett, EDGE

I mean, of course right?

The Titans have been one of the worst offensive lines in the league purely in sacks allowed. While some of that was fixed last week, Joey Bosa still left Nashville with two more sacks than he flew in with.

So, whether Arthur Smith decides to put Jonnu Smith on the other team’s top EDGE again or if Barrett moves around, it isn’t as easy as just saying Taylor Lewan>Shaq Barrett.

What makes this matchup even more difficult is that it looks like there is a chance that Jason Pierre-Paul could play this week after breaking his neck this offseason. We have no idea how he will play, but if he somehow plays up to his potential despite the lack of contact and practice he has had this season then it would mean that the Titans would have to pick if they wanted those one-on-one matchups on the outside or if they wanted to get a little heavier.

Taylor Lewan has been playing really well and gets better every week, but this will be his toughest matchup yet as he challenges the NFL sack leader who just had a week off to rest and recover.
