Bleacher Report’s ideal trade target for the Tennessee Titans is a New York Jets offensive tackle.

Bleacher Report named an ideal trade target for all 32 NFL teams ahead of the October 29th trade deadline, and its target for the Tennessee Titans has the team dealing for a New York Jets offensive lineman.

That offensive lineman comes in the form of tackle Brandon Shell, who was a fifth-round pick of the Jets back in 2016.

B/R’s Maurice Moton points to Shell as a possibility for the Titans, and says the Jets would be willing to part ways with him because of 2019 third-round pick, Chuma Edoga.

Here’s what Moton has to say about why the Titans would even want to make such a move, which he believes would cost a late-round pick.

"Because of his All-Pro rookie campaign, Conklin may command a contract on which the Titans would rather pass next offseason. The front office could instead pick up a low-cost replacement such as Brandon Shell and extend him on a modest deal."

While I could certainly see the Titans moving on from right tackle Jack Conklin after this season given that they didn’t pick up the fifth year of his rookie deal and he hasn’t shown that much in 2019, this trade still wouldn’t make sense for the Titans.

If Conklin doesn’t come back, the Titans still have another option in swing tackle Dennis Kelly, who most recently filled in for left tackle Taylor Lewan during his suspension and was one of the better tackles in the NFL last season when filling in for Conklin on the right side.

Kelly would be the No. 1 option and almost a lock to be re-signed if the Titans let Conklin go.

With that being the case, it wouldn’t make much sense for the Titans to give up draft capital for a tackle with limited experience at guard who is in the last year of his rookie deal and would certainly be a backup at best for Tennessee in 2020.
