Titans punter, Brett Kern.

4. Brett Kern could be QB3

If for some reason Tannehill can’t get the job done moving forward, perhaps the Titans should try Brett Kern behind center before going back to Marcus Mariota.

As I already mentioned, the Titans decided to try a fake punt on their opening drive in the first quarter, which was a good move to try and spark something for the Titans on offense.

Kern took the snap, faked the kick, and then promptly dropped a dime into the hands of safety Kevin Byard for a first down that ultimately led to a Titans field goal on the opening drive.

As if Kern’s elite punting ability wasn’t enough — he leads the league in punts landing inside the 20 and dropped two inside the Chargers’ 10-yard line in Week 7 — he can also throw the rock when necessary.

Is there anything he can’t do?

It’s amazing that Kern hasn’t won a Special Teams award so far this season. Perhaps his dime to Byard will be enough to get him the recognition necessary to win one, but don’t hold your breath.
