26. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4) – BYE
Recap: The Pittsburgh Steelers put their impending doom on hold for a week with a huge road win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6 with their third-string quarterback Devlin Hodges playing. In a game that was thought to be an easy win for the Chargers, the Steelers shocked the world and jumped out to a 24-0 lead. A late charge by Philip Rivers and Co. simply wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.
Outlook: Mason Rudolph, the quarterback Hodges replaced, will return in Week 8 after the Steelers’ bye and retain his job, despite Pittsburgh’s win in Week 6. The Steelers, who could be in the midst of a lost season, might as well see what they have in Rudolph the rest of the way. Pittsburgh has an opportunity to creep closer to .500 next week with a game against the lowly Miami Dolphins in Week 8.
