1. New England Patriots (6-0) – Play on MNF
Recap: Despite a lot being made about the New England Patriots’ offense in Week 6, Bill Belichick’s squad took care of business against the New York Giants with a little help from the defense. The Pats were able to force four turnovers (three interceptions) and score two defensive touchdowns to aid what was a sluggish New England offense that got some resistance from what has been known as a lackluster Giants defense.
Outlook: The Pats are looking at a Week 7 Monday Night Football showdown with the New York Jets, a team the Pats beat handily in Week 3, 30-14. There’s a big difference between that game and this one, though, as the Jets will have starting quarterback Sam Darnold healthy and active. As we saw last week, the Jets are a totally different team with Darnold behind center, so this game’s result isn’t as much of a foregone conclusion as it was in the pair’s first meeting.
