NFL Power Rankings Week 8: QB change sparks Titans to win
4. San Francisco 49ers (6-0)
Recap: The San Francisco 49ers’ Week 7 game against the Washington Redskins was supposed to be a gimme, and while Kyle Shanahan’s squad emerged victorious, it was by no means easy. The weather in Washington D.C. was brutal and it led to sloppy play from both teams, which kept the game close. On one side, the weather was a major detriment for the Niners, but on the other side it was a huge asset for the Redskins that kept them in the game. In the end, three Robbie Gould field goals were all the Niners would need to squeak out a road win.
Outlook: The Niners are just one of two teams that remain unbeaten this season, along with the New England Patriots. On top of that, San Fran sits atop the NFC West with a win over the Los Angeles Rams and two games still to play against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers get a tough matchup in Week 8 against a surging Carolina Panthers team that is coming off a bye.
