16. Detroit Lions (2-3-1)

Recap: The Detroit Lions ran neck-and-neck with the Minnesota Vikings for much of the Week 7 game, however a poor finish to the contest defensively did the Lions in. Down 28-24 going into the fourth quarter, the Lions couldn’t stop the Vikings and surrendered two more touchdowns in the final frame. The Lions came to within one score with a little over three minutes left, but the Vikings drove 75 yards down the field to regain the two-score advantage and the win.

Outlook: There will be plenty of “what if’s” for the Lions when this season is all said and done, especially if Matt Patricia’s squad doesn’t make the playoffs. The Lions have played well for the most part, but they are part of what is arguably the best division in the NFL this season and have yet to beat a divisional opponent. Detroit will welcome the New York Giants into town in Week 8 in the hopes that it can break its three-game losing streak.
