NFL Power Rankings Week 8: QB change sparks Titans to win
24. New York Giants (2-5)
Recap: Someone forgot to tell the New York Giants they had a football game to play today, as Pat Shurmur’s team was sleepwalking through the first quarter and allowed the Arizona Cardinals to jump out to a 17-0 lead. The Giants would answer with a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to draw to within a field goal deficit, however Big Blue was never able to overcome the early hole they dug themselves. The Giants’ bid to make a comeback failed, leading to their fifth loss of the season.
Outlook: This was certainly a winnable game that could have kept the Giants in the conversation for the division, but yet another setback to this team’s season continues to ensure the Giants will be playing for developing Daniel Jones, and nothing more. The G-Men will hit the road to take on a tough opponent in the Detroit Lions in Week 8.
