Tennessee Titans defensive X-factor: Jeffery Simmons, DT

I thought about this one for a long time and Simmons is who I came up with.

Since the defensive backs will show a variety of looks, it didn’t make sense to isolate someone who would cover Keenan Allen like Malcolm Butler.

Harold Landry didn’t work because, while he is very good at rushing the passer and basically every other facet of playing EDGE in this defense, the Titans decide to for him to do mundane things like jam the tight end at the L.O.S or drop into coverage.

Jayon Brown was also on the cusp since he would have to deal with LAC offensive X-factor Hunter Henry. However an injury means that he might not even play on Sunday.

With all that said, the offensive line for the Chargers is an absolute mess and someone should have a real chance to wreck the offense because of it.

Jurrell Casey and DaQuan Jones will have a chance to do that, but so far their pass rush has been uninspiring even for DTs. So, if Simmons is active I expect them to have a package or situations that they want him to come in for. Namely, having the guy with the freshest legs rushing the passer.

If the Titans do have Simmons up, we know he has been working in pass rush packages throughout the week so there is a good chance that we see him in that role which means that he and Cameron Wake (if healthy) have the best chance to wreck this game for the Chargers.
