Los Angeles Chargers defensive X-factor: Jerry Tillery, DT

With the Tennessee Titans offensive line ranking as one of the worst in the NFL, it makes sense that this is a defensive lineman.

For those of you who don’t know, Tillery is a 1st round rookie DT out of Notre Dame who had one of the most dominating games of any draft eligible prospect when he handled the Stanford OL back in 2018.

While Tillery has yet to start a game, spending his rookie campaign as a rotational player, injuries have pushed him into the starting lineup and he will now alternate playing against the Tennessee Titans two worst offensive linemen in Rodger Saffold and Nate Davis.

Tillery looked special yet, but as you can see the Titans are starmakers when it comes to defensive tackles. So, I fully expect Tillery to have a chance to dominate on the inside and improve his 1.5 sack total where he sits right now.

As a run defender, there is probably a chance for this offensive line to maybe get some push and you know Smith is just dying to call a lot of runs on Sunday. So, while that may take him out of his ideal situation, it will be a great test to see if he can hang as a full time starter.
