ESPN’s Tennessee Titans trade suggestion pushes me down the rabbit hole

What would a deal look like and could it happen?

The Miami Dolphins don’t “owe one” to the Tennessee Titans, but Tennessee did help them get out of their terrible deal with Ryan Tannehill. So at the very least, I think there is a good deal of communication between the Titans and the Dolphins organizations.

Miami obviously aren’t “buying” right now, but if they did this trade they could have the running backs taken care of with Dion Lewis, Mark Walton and Myles Gaskin the the backfield along with Chandler Cox as your H-back. If they want to bolster that and cut Gaskin they can, because they have 12 draft picks in 2020 including 7 in the first three rounds.

So why not lock down a player that will probably be an RB2 in Miami based on how he looked in New England and how frequently the Titans offensive coaching staff missuses offensive talent?

In exchange, the Titans want a back that doesn’t want to stay in Miami and whose role you are theoretically replacing with Lewis anyway.

Most likely deal: Titans get Drake and Dolphins get Lewis

Dream deal: Titans get Drake and a high Day 3 draft pick and Dolphins get Lewis (and maybe a late round pick)
