5. Dallas Cowboys

This one may be a surprise to some of you, but Marcus Mariota could head to America’s Team in 2020.

Dak Prescott has yet to sign a contract extension with the Cowboys, and with the team currently sitting at 3-3 after a 3-0 start, I’m sure extending Prescott is the last thing on the mind of owner/general manager Jerry Jones.

Prescott is far from the main problem, though, and I’m sure the Cowboys will more than likely franchise tag him as long as he doesn’t have a complete meltdown in the final ten games of the season.

That being said, current backup quarterback Cooper Rush is also in the final year of his contract, which could open an opportunity for Mariota to swoop in as an insurance policy at quarterback for the 2020 season.

Mariota would likely prove no threat to actually dethroning Prescott as the starter for the Cowboys, but if, God forbid, anything were to happen, they’d at least have a quarterback with experience filling in.
