Arthur Smith needs to be fired

Blaming the offensive woes on the quarterback and offensive line only would be an exercise in futility if we’re being honest with ourselves. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith gets worse as a play-caller every single week.

Whether it’s calling for passes short of the line of scrimmage on crucial third downs, calling run plays on second-and-long, or running Dalyn Dawkins up the middle instead of Derrick Henry while trailing like he did in Week 6, Smith looks like he’s in over his head.

When watching film, another problem for this Titans offense is spacing. Titans receivers are practically tripping all over each other far too often, which is likely one of the reasons why both Mariota and Tannehill have held on to the ball too long in some instances — nobody is open!

The saving grace for Smith is that now he has a new quarterback to run his offense, and that might help save his job for at least another week. However, Tannehill will have to work miracles in order to make Smith look like a good OC, and I’m not quite sure he has that in him.
