Winner: Rashaan Evans

I wanted to end this on a positive note, so I decided to highlight the play of Rashaan Evans.

Against the run game of the Denver Broncos, one player kept flashing on the screen for the Titans defense and that was Evans. It was a big assignment for him to be the lead dog on the field, but with Jayon Brown exiting early after a groin injury, Evans filled in and did a great job alongside Wesley Woodyard.

I noted live that when you heard Evans hit Freeman or Lindsay, it sounded like two bricks being clapped together and there was no push from the running back after contact. So often you would just see Evans run into the hole full speed and stuff a run immediately.

For a defense that forgot how to pass rush for most of the game (especially when the Titans put Harold Landry at off ball linebacker) being able to stop the run was crucial because it made it more difficult on Flacco to be precise and move the ball through the air.

Going forward I would love to see Evans execute his pass rushes a little bit better, but all in all the 2nd year linebacker looks good for the Titans and it looks like another really good pick by Jon Robinson as the defense is set up for success for a long time.
