Titans vs. Broncos predictions: 4 reasons Tennessee will win
Broncos’ run defense
Another major weakness of the Broncos in 2019 has been the run defense. Denver is allowing 126.4 rushing yards per contest, the 11th-worst in the NFL. This helps Tennessee in two ways.
For starters, being able to get Derrick Henry going will serve to slow down an already lackluster pass-rush for the Broncos. It will also force Denver to bring more help to the line of scrimmage, which should lead to more space for Titans receivers and easier completions for Mariota.
Sustaining drives has been another issue for the Titans this season, and it has a direct effect on the defense. With Henry grinding out solid gains through four quarters, Tennessee’s defense can get proper rest and should be able to play at a high level as a result.
And if the Titans’ defense can be a well-rested unit for the majority of the game, the Broncos are going to have a tough time scoring points. In that case, Tennessee won’t have to do that much on offense to win.
