The Tennessee Titans added a new kicker and a pair of running backs on Tuesday.

The Tennessee Titans made some roster moves on Tuesday with the additions of two new running backs and a kicker to replace the recently released Cairo Santos.

According to Jim Wyatt of Titans Online, the Titans have added running backs Dalyn Dawkins and Rod Smith, while also adding kicker Cody Parkey. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported yesterday that Parkey was the likely choice to replace Santos.

Dawkins was added from the Titans’ practice squad. He was originally part of the 53-man roster, but was later released and brought back to the practice squad when Tennessee needed an offensive lineman.

Dawkins was a star in the Titans’ fourth preseason game, which helped his case to make the roster initially.

Smith is the more experienced back and spent the last three-plus seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He averaged 3.6 yards per carry and 9.1 yards per reception in his time there.

Both he and Dawkins add the running back depth the Titans desperately needed with Dion Lewis contributing nothing this season and David Fluellen being placed on IR. Smith is also a special teams ace.

The Titans are welcoming in a new kicker after the debacle that was Cairo Santos and his four missed field goals in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills.

Former Bears kicker Cody Parkey, who is infamous for his double doink miss in last year’s NFC Wild Card Game that cost the Bears a chance to advance in the playoffs, will be the Titans’ new kicker.

His time with Tennessee should be short no matter what happens because starting kicker Ryan Succop should return in Week 9.

To make room for these moves, the Titans waived offensive lineman Hronnis Grasu today, who was let go on top of Santos and fellow offensive lineman David Quessenberry, both of whom were released on Monday. Quessenberry has since been re-added to the practice squad.

The Titans also added offensive lineman Daniel Munyer to the practice squad, and released wide receiver Papi White in a corresponding move.
