There were three big takeaways from the Tennessee Titans Week 5 loss against the Buffalo Bills.

The Tennessee Titans lost a home game that was the definition of a slugfest between two of the better defenses in the National Football League. The Buffalo Bills were able to outlast the Titans 14-7 on a Sunday afternoon that many Titans fans had envisioned going completely different.

The game was exactly what we expected. It was a defensive struggle between two teams who sport elite defenses. In the end, the Bills were able to make more plays than the Titans, who were doomed thanks to four missed field goals by kicker Cairo Santos throughout the game.

Bills fans flooded Nissan Stadium by the tens of thousands in order to watch their team go to 4-1, while they dropped the Titans to a less than ideal 2-3 on a season that is still very young. It is not time to panic just yet, but if this inconsistent play continues, that time will undoubtedly start to get closer as the weeks continue to pass.

There were some positives on the day, however, as well as some of the obvious negatives. This article is going to take a deeper dive into the three biggest takeaways I have following Tennessee’s Week 5 loss to Buffalo.
