1. Indianapolis Colts (3-2)

Week 5 AFC South ranking: No. 2

Recap: Now, it’s not to say the Indianapolis Colts have a bad team by any stretch, but I don’t think anyone expected them to beat the one of the league’s very best in the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 — but they did just that. Indy’s defense was sensational in slowing star Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Colts running back Marlon Mack compiled enough yards to keep Indy’s offense moving in order to beat the formerly undefeated Chiefs.

Pros: Indy’s defense was superb in this game. Anytime a defense can hold the Chiefs to 13 points, it deserves all the credit in the world and should be taken seriously. Marlon Mack continues to be the stud running back the Colts need him to be.

Cons: The jury is still out on quarterback Jacoby Brissett and if he can take this team to where it wants to go in 2019. He totaled just 151 yards and threw a pick, and his only touchdown came on the ground in the first quarter.

Outlook: If Brissett can ever shed the game-manager label, this team can really go somewhere with how the run game and defense has played. After the Colts get some time off in Week 6, they’ll host the Texans in Week 7 to determine who is truly the best team in this division.
