5. Can you be consistently aggressive when it maters?

I think that Mike Vrabel has a great feel for when yo be aggressive, or at least he did in 2018.

However, this year every time he goes conservative it seems like a bad call. For example, against the Colts on 4th and short he elected to punt instead of going for it which ended up killing the Titans.

Yesterday against the Bills he called field goals four separate times despite having a kicker who I believe is 1 of 6 in Nissan Stadium since joining the Titans. I don’t have an issue with that in a vacuum I guess, but when he is 0 for 3 maybe give the ball to Derrick Henry instead of trying to set records for inefficiency.

Then, when he is aggressive it doesn’t make sense. Specifically, I am thinking about the 4th down attempt vs the Atlanta Falcons instead of making it a 3-possesion game with a field goal try.

It seems like he is in his own head and he has lot the touch for when to attack and when to be conservative. If the Titans are going to win games with Arthur Smith as the OC, then he needs to have a better feel for that.
