Loser: Arthur Smith

I desperately want Arthur Smith to work out as the Tennessee Titans OC. All this turnover at OC is giving me whiplash and I am ready for the Titans to finally have a functioning offense.

However, it is brutally hard to watch a guy:

-Minimize the impact that Delanie Walker should be having

-Reduce A.J. Brown to WR 3 or 4 in terms of snaps played

-Fail to recognize how to attack a defense or how to get in rhythm

-Go back to formations that don’t fit your talent

As bad as I want it to work, five games into the season Smith looks lost and too dependent on screen passes and two-man routes when the Titans need a big play.

It takes time to implement a new offense, but literally the only selling points on Smith were his understanding of the roster and the familiarity that the Titans players had with the scheme he would run.

So far those are two things that just aren’t evident.
