10. Detroit Lions (2-1-1) – BYE
Recap: The Detroit Lions get a rest this week after dropping to 2-1-1 following a tough, hard-fought loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. The good news was the Lions proved that they’re legit after running neck-and-neck with one of the NFL’s elite, and even had a lead with just over two minutes left before Patrick Mahomes worked his magic.
Pros: The Lions have played well on both sides of the ball this season, and their Week 4 showing against KC proved they can be legit contenders and that their previously undefeated mark was no fluke after wins over both the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles.
Cons: Detroit should really be 3-1, but a badly-timed timeout in Week 1 cost Matt Patricia’s squad a win against the Arizona Cardinals.
Outlook: Right in the thick of things in the division, the Lions will hit the road to take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 6 in what is a crucial divisional matchup that will have a huge impact in the NFC North race.
