18. Oakland Raiders (3-2)
Recap: Despite all the talk of Khalil Mack getting revenge against his old mates, the Oakland Raiders, the superstar pass-rusher was quiet, as Derek Carr didn’t get sacked once. Even after blowing a 17-point lead in the third quarter, the Raiders scored a game-winning touchdown with just under two minutes left to play to secure the win in London over the Chicago Bears.
Pros: The Raiders did a great job protecting Carr, who didn’t take a single sack and only suffered one QB hit in Week 5. Josh Jacobs continues to look like a star and we might have to start taking the Raiders a bit more seriously after this huge win over a potential playoff team.
Cons: Oakland is extremely thin at wide receiver and needs Tyrell Williams back as soon as possible. They were able to overcome it in Week 5 even with budding star and tight end Darren Waller not doing much, but that can’t be expected moving forward.
Outlook: The Raiders will get some extra time to enjoy this upset win over the Bears with a bye in Week 6. After that, Oakland will have to travel to Green Bay in Week 7 in what will be yet another test for this upstart squad. Are we calling the Raiders a playoff team just yet? Of course not, but they certainly aren’t the joke we thought they were.
