19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3)
Recap: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced a one-score deficit going into the fourth quarter, but a touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater to Michael Thomas with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game was the nail in the coffin. The Bucs would eventually answer with a fourth quarter touchdown of their own to make it a 31-24 game, but it was too little too late.
Pros: Chris Godwin continues to play like a star receiver, and it’s time we start giving him credit as such. No Bucs players has been more consistent this season.
Cons: The Bucs defense was getting a lot of credit after the first four games of the season, but it allowed Bridgewater to throw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns. Thomas was responsible for 182 of those yards and two scores. It was not a good day for Todd Bowles’ unit.
Outlook: The Bucs have definitely played better than most expected them to this season, however they’re still under .500 through five games. Next up is another divisional showdown with the Carolina Panthers, a team that is one of the hottest in the NFL right now since its Week 2 loss to Tampa.
