24. New York Giants (2-3)

Recap: New York Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones met his match in Week 5 against a tough Minnesota Vikings defense that held him to just 182 yards and one touchdown to one pick. The Giants were only able to muster up 10 points against the Vikings, and ended up dropping their Sunday matchup 28-10.

Pros: Jones continues to show flashes and looks like a promising young quarterback. Saquon Barkley is not human and could be back next week after suffering a high ankle sprain just two weeks ago. His return will be a huge lift for the G-Men.

Cons: The Giants’ secondary is not good, and the defense overall leaves a lot to be desired. Kirk Cousins, who has struggled mightily this season, was able to have a field day in Week 5 and threw for his highest yardage output of the season. Wayne Gallman also left this game with a concussion, so the Giants could be extra thin at running back if Barkley doesn’t return in Week 6.

Outlook: Despite Jones renewing optimism in the Giants in Week 3, this season is all about developing. This team simply isn’t good enough defensively to make a playoff run. To make matters worse, the Giants will draw the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
