Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson didn’t mince words when talking about Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan.

The Buffalo Bills dominated the Tennessee Titans at the line of scrimmage in Week 5 en route to a 14-7 win in what was a defensive battle in Nashville. After the game, Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson went right after Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan.

Lewan made his first appearance of the 2019 season on Sunday after serving a four-game PED suspension, but his presence didn’t help the offensive line at all, with Lewan being part of the problem.

Lewan, along with his mates upfront, were losing their respective battles with the Bills’ pass-rush – particularly in the first half – and ended up allowing five sacks and eight QB hits in Week 5. As a result, the Titans’ offense couldn’t get off the ground.

After the game, Lawson didn’t mince words when talking about Lewan, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.

"“We knew what his weakness was — he gives up inside moves and this was an inside game. He’s a fake tough guy…He was quiet today”"

Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who was the star of the Bills’ defense with three sacks, had this to say about Lewan’s return.

"“I was really happy Lewan came back today. I’m glad he could be a part of that today”"

In the four games during Lewan’s absence, the Titans offensive line allowed 17 sacks.

Things figured to be get better with Lewan back and the Titans coming off a Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons in which they didn’t surrender a single sack, however that turned out not to be the case.

Instead, Tennessee’s O-line looked exactly like it did during the first three weeks, and that’s a troubling sign for this team’s offense moving forward.

And, to add insult to injury, Lewan and the Titans’ Week 5 showing opened them up to getting trashed by their opponent, who earned every right to do so after getting the win.
