Loser: Sharif Finch

I don’t get this one. Despite being so effective, Finch was left off of the active roster in favor of Reggie Gilbert.

The thinking behind it had to have been what the defensive line goes through on a week-to-week basis. The Titans coaching staff must have identified the fact that the Falcons struggle more with athletic EDGEs who can drop into coverage, rather than power based EDGEs who can set the edge.

Regardless, it seems strange to leave off one of your best players at the position, though I guess this tells us that despite his snap count and his effectiveness, the Titans feel that he isn’t one of their top-3 EDGEs.
