23. team. 87. . . Previous: 24th. Carolina Panthers

I wish I could put the Panthers higher on this list, I really do. I think they have one of the most exciting young EDGEs in the NFL in Brian Burns, someone I wanted desperately for the Tennessee Titans.

On top of that, Christian McCaffery may be the player in the NFL doing the most with the least at any position. He is what David Johnson was a few years ago, except he is doing it without the franchise QB.

And that is why they aren’t ranked high. I just can’t get behind Kyle Allen as an NFL starter and I definitely can’t get behind Cam Newton as the starter if he isn’t healthy.

The pieces are there to be so good and their defense is playing at a really high level even if they aren’t getting talked about. At the end of the day, the offensive line and QB play scare me too much to put them in the top-20, but they are about one good win away from convincing me that the QB position doesn’t matter in Carolina.
