Defensive line: C

The Titans ground defense ranks 21st in the NFL (119 rushing yards allowed per game) and could be better. However, it must be noted that this number is inflated a bit by two big runs late in games, one by Jordan Wilkins (55 yards) and the other by Leonard Fournette (69 yards).

Regardless, the runs were allowed in the first place, and while Fournette’s was in garbage time, Wilkins’ run was the biggest play of the game in Week 2 that led to a loss. Obviously, some of that falls on the linebackers, also.

Still, the Titans have faced three good starting running backs in the first three weeks and none of them have garnered more than 75 yards in a game. In fact, Fournette was going to finish with negative yardage before his big breakout run.

As far as pressure goes, the Titans defensive line needs to improve. Isaiah Mack is responsible for the line’s only sack, so we’re still waiting to see Jurrell Casey make an appearance in that column this season.
