6. New Orleans Saints (2-1)

Who needs Drew Brees? I’m kidding, of course.

The Saints were supposed to be nearly dead and buried without their Hall of Fame quarterback, but instead the Saints went into Seattle and smashed the Seahawks for an upset win that was aided by their defense.

Teddy Bridgewater is no Brees, but he was efficient and played mistake-free football for four quarters, and he got some help from his defense and special teams with a pair of touchdowns that helped New Orleans get their second win of the season. Having one of the best running backs in the league, Alvin Kamara, didn’t hurt, either.

The Saints will get a home game in Week 4, but it comes against one of the NFC’s best teams in the Cowboys. New Orleans has at least five games left without Brees, and if the Saints can get out of this stretch with a .500 record, the playoffs are more than attainable. The Saints are off to a good start in that regard.
