Former Tennessee Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck defended Marcus Mariota and has a message for Tennessee Titans fans.

Not only did former Tennessee Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck have a message for fans who are down on the team, he also defended Marcus Mariota.

After the Titans’ Week 3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bulluck was trying to keep it positive and reminded Titans fans why they need to be more optimistic during this difficult time.

In 2002, the Titans started 1-4 and ended up making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game. Bulluck, who was on that team, pointed to that season to help keep things positive.

On Friday, Bulluck sympathized with fans who are frustrated, but made it clear they need to relax and let things play out.

Bulluck also defended Mariota, who has been getting absolutely killed by some fans for his lackluster start to the season. In fact, some are already scouting college quarterbacks as a future replacement for him.

He points out the revolving door of offensive coordinators the Oregon product has had to overcome in his five seasons in the NFL.

While it has undoubtedly stacked the deck against Mariota, not having the same offensive coordinator every year doesn’t excuse some of his issues after three games into the 2019 season, like holding on to the ball for too long or missing wide open throws he should make.

Regardless, it’s an important talking point in the debate that rages on about why No. 8 hasn’t had the success you’d expect from a No. 2 overall pick.

Bulluck’s message is spot on about letting things play out, though.

This team is way too talented to keep going at the pace it is to start the season, and there is hope with Taylor Lewan returning and Nate Davis getting into a game that things upfront could improve, thus helping Mariota’s confidence and ultimately, his overall performance.

The Titans will play a road game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4, and will welcome Lewan back in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills in what should be a major shot in the arm for this team.
