Right guard is a major problem

Saying that the Titans miss their star left tackle Taylor Lewan would be pointing out the obvious on an evening in which they allowed nine sacks. However, on this night, the right guard position once again showed that it is the obvious weak link on the offensive line.

Right guard Jamill Douglas was being abused by Calais Campbell throughout the game. When Douglas wasn’t holding, he was being put on skates by the All-Pro defensive lineman.

Douglas was so bad that the Titans had to pull him during the game in favor of Aaron Stinnie. That tells you everything you need to know about not only how bad he was, but about where Douglas’ status is as this team’s starter.

Head coach Mike Vrabel said in his post-game press conference that they are doing their best to get rookie guard Nate Davis healthy enough to fill in at right guard in hopes of improving a position that’s in desperate need of stability.

Regardless of who is at QB for the Titans, if Tennessee is going to salvage the rest of the season they need to figure out a competent solution at the right guard position.
