Jalen Ramsey’s farewell

After demanding a trade from the Jaguars, it appears Jalen Ramsey is going to get his wish at some point in the near future. As NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport shared on Wednesday, that deal could come as early as Friday.

Until then, Ramsey is playing on Thursday night, so the Titans won’t avoid him in this game. However, this will likely be Ramsey’s last game in Jacksonville as a member of the home team, and it’s quite possible the Titans won’t have to see him again this season, unless of course he’s traded to a team they play later in the season, which is certainly possible.

Regardless, if he isn’t traded to an in-division rival, the Titans won’t have to face him twice a year anymore. Granted, the Titans have been able to handle the Jags even with Ramsey on the field, but Jacksonville not having the star cornerback will make Tennessee’s job on offense a bit easier moving forward.

For those who hope Ramsey will play for the Titans, which includes Ramsey himself, it’s not likely to happen. The Titans would have to give up quite the haul to get him (the Jags reportedly want two first-round picks) and then give him a lucrative extension, and that’s all predicated on the Jags actually wanting to deal him to a division rival in the first place.

It’s not going to happen. If you want to see Ramsey in the two-tone blue, it’ll have to be via free agency, which again is unlikely because Ramsey will want his extension well before it gets to that point.
