Leonard Fournette vs Missed tackles

The Tennessee Titans have done a fantastic job showing fans why you don’t take a running back with a top-5 pick when they match up with Leonard Fournette.

But they have struggled with some issues tackling this year. Now, by no means are they a bad run defense or anything, but they lead the NFL in missed tackle percentage which is turning small gains into first downs and that can’t keep happening.

If the Jacksonville Jaguars are drawing up a game plan to beat the Titans, it can’t be for Gardner Minshew to outplay the Titans defense. It is going to have to run through the rushing attack which means that Fournette would need to come up big.

The Tennessee Titans could send more pressure this week than in any other week given how Minshew struggled against it in Week 2. Loading the box with potential blitzers should also give the Titans a chance to smother the run and to get great run fits.

Fournette played in the last game vs the Titans, but that was a Titans defense that did a great job wrapping him up and taking him down without needing to gang tackle. Right now the Titans don’t have that and Fournette nearly won the game for the Jaguars last week.
