Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars: Biggest X-factors
By Will Lomas
Tennessee Titans defense: Rashaan Evans, LB
Evans has been relatively quiet through two weeks, but it isn’t because he is playing poorly.
In Week 1 he was the first man to the ball carrier several times, but ultimately his couldn’t bring them down consistently.
Against the Colts he had a huge TFL and did a good job limiting the effectiveness of those tight ends as well as almost coming down with an interception.
This week I expect Evans to be heavily involved in keeping Leonard Fournette in check, as well as rushing the QB out of the diamond package on defense. That means that he may be busy taking on pulling guards on the run plays, but he will have a chance to get on the stat sheet in a big way rushing the passer.
There was hype about Evans getting some potential snaps at EDGE in the preseason and that really made sense. If the Titans were thinking about bringing that look out, doing so on a short week when the other team hasn’t seen it would be a really nice way to get a mental edge on the offense.
