Tackling

The Titans lacked the ability to finish off tackles and sacks against the Colts. The Titans continuously had problems wrapping up players for tackles, particularly bringing down Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett in the backfield. The Titans pass-rush was in Brissett’s face all day long, but only brought him down for three sacks.

Had the Titans been able to bring Brissett down more often, the Titans would have forced punts instead of the long touchdown drives that the Colts sustained.

The Titans also had some sloppy tackling on Colts running backs. Marlon Mack was able to break away some positive gains after getting hit in the backfield. The Titans need to finish tackles better to get off of the field and reduce the broken plays that the Colts took advantage of.

The Jaguars have a heavy bruiser in Leonard Fournette. If Fournette can break through the Titans missed tackles, it might be a long day for this defense. The Titans will need to clean up their mechanics to not give up additional yards after contact.
