So why are the Tennessee Titans even being mentioned?

I would have loved this potential trade two years ago. You move the Titans 18th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft which they used on CB Adoree Jackson, and you get an All-Pro CB. Easy right?

Well, the problem is that the Tennessee Titans defense is loaded now. Logan Ryan and Malcolm Butler are the starting CBs and they have combined for 3 INTs and a touchdown. Behind them are Kenny Vaccaro and the best safety in the NFL Kevin Byard, who also has an interception this year.

Rounding out the group is the aforementioned Adoree Jackson who has only allowed 2 catches for less than 20 yards, if you take out the plays before half against the Browns where the Titans let them complete passes to run the clock out (which worked and resulted in them not even getting a chance to kick a FG).

Why would anyone speculate that Ramsey would even be a target for them? Well, maybe because it is one of two places that he mentioned on the podcast with The Boys:

Ramsey being a Tennessee guy had a good chance to be drafted by the Titans coming out of the draft, but terrible protection from the Ken Whisenhunt staff let Marcus Mariota get hit too many times early in his career.

The trickle down of that was the Titans moving around and ending up with future picks, Jack Conklin and Derrick Henry. Those guys were brought in to help take pressure off of Mariota instead of grabbing someone like Ramsey who would be a great CB on a group DBs that needed a complete overhaul.

So now we know how Ramsey’s career could have ended up in Tennessee and how he is very interested in coming to Tennessee if given the right offer. But if he got here, what would his role be?
