2. Indianapolis Colts (1-1)

Week 2 ranking: 3rd

There was a good reason why I didn’t put the Colts in the No. 4 spot in the AFC South power rankings to start the season: they have a good team.

Of course, that good team was vastly downgraded after the retirement of Andrew Luck, but aside from that, this team has a ton of talent on both sides of the ball.

The Colts had Mariota under pressure all game in Week 2 and were able to keep the Titans Derrick Henry in check. Indy did get some help from the Titans thanks to major mistakes over the course of the game, and a big letdown on defense during Wilkins’ huge fourth quarter run that setup the game-winning touchdown.

One of the more glaring issues for the Colts right now is with their kicker. Adam Vinatieri missed two more extra points on Sunday and is off to a horrific start to the season when you combine his Week 2 performance with the two field goals and one extra point he missed in Week 1.

After two straight road games to start the season, the Colts will welcome the Atlanta Falcons into town on Sunday. Like the Colts, the Falcons will be riding high into this one, as head coach Dan Quinn’s group just earned a hard-fought Sunday night victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
