3. Tennessee Titans (1-1)

Week 2 ranking: 1st

Just last week, the Tennessee Titans were riding high after an impressive Week 1 blowout victory over the Cleveland Browns. However, a Week 2 loss to the Indianapolis Colts sent head coach Mike Vrabel’s squad crashing back down to Earth.

The Titans offense just wasn’t able to get anything going through the air, as Marcus Mariota was under constant pressure all game long and wasn’t at his best. The Oregon product finished with just 154 passing yards on the afternoon, and the Titans offense totaled just 242 yards overall.

While the defense did play well for the most part, a few breakdowns and a back-breaking 55-yard run by Colts back Jordan Wilkins made all the difference in this game.

The Titans still had one more shot in the closing minute to get into field goal range and take a lead, but the drive stalled and the Colts emerged victorious.

If the Titans are going to take that next step this season, some of the blunders we saw in Week 2 simply cannot happen, and this offense as a whole must play better or else it’ll be the same old story. Thankfully for Tennessee, a Week 3 matchup with the Jags awaits, and it’s a matchup the Titans have dominated the last two seasons.
