4. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
Week 2 ranking: 4th
While the Jags’ defense came to play in Week 2 after holding the Houston Texans to just 13 points, Jacksonville’s offense did not. The legend of Gardner Minshew took a hit, as the Jaguars were only able to muster up 12 points in a losing effort.
Even with that poor offensive showing overall, the Jaguars still had a chance to win the game late.
After scoring a touchdown with 30 seconds left in regulation to make it a 13-12 game, head coach Doug Marrone opted to go for two instead of the extra point, but Leonard Fournette was stopped short of paydirt and the Texans escaped with a win.
That wasn’t the only “L” Marrone took on Sunday, though. A sideline spat between he and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey was caught on camera, and now Ramsey has requested a trade and could be on his way out the door in Jacksonville.
The dysfunction is evident, and no matter how great Minshew’s clothes and mustache look, this team doesn’t have much of a positive outlook the rest of the way after losing Nick Foles in Week 1. The Jags will look to rebound on Thursday night against a Tennessee Titans team that has dominated them in recent years.
