Tennessee Titans offensive lineman David Quessenberry spoke about his touchdown reception after the Week 2 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

There weren’t many bright spots for the Tennessee Titans in Week 2, but there was a special moment for offensive lineman David Quessenberry.

The Titans O-lineman was the recipient of a touchdown pass from quarterback Marcus Mariota, which was the team’s first score of the afternoon.

What made the play so special is the fact that Quessenberry is a cancer survivor.

In 2014 he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma while with the Houston Texans, and he didn’t fully complete his treatment until 2017

"“It was a simple route — any of the offensive linemen on this team could have caught that ball,” Quessenberry said after his memorable play. “I just happened to be the guy who had his number called on that play and was able to come down with it. All I was thinking was, ‘Don’t drop it.”"

Quessenberry also revealed that he hadn’t caught a pass in a game since high school.

The San Jose St. product spoke about his struggles in dealing with cancer and the long road back that led to his scoring a touchdown on Sunday.

"“I have been through a lot, and it has been a long journey to get here,” Quessenberry said. “Even with all of that, to go out there and score a touchdown, it is crazy. That was amazing. It was epic.”"

The touchdown was the only scoring play from the arm of Mariota in what ended up being a disappointing 19-17 loss at the hands of the Colts.

Despite the disappointment of the loss, there was nothing that could put a damper on what was truly a special moment for a man who had to overcome so much to make it happen.
