Loser: Backup DTs Matt Dickerson, Austin Johnson and Brent Urban

Urban was a healthy scratch today, which probably has to do more with body type and the scheme the Titans want to run, rather than just overall talent.

Still, the highlight of all three of these guys so far this preseason has been missed QB sacks.

With Isaiah Mack clearly looking like a starter on this defense or at least a rotational DT, that means that the top-3 spots are locked in. With Jeffery Simmons debut expected roughly around the start of the second half of the season, all three of them are competing for one spot on the game day roster.

Unless one of those three can break out and make some plays, the plummet in performance after the starting three is very noticeable. Teams seem to move the ball very easily on that front and it is a problem for a defense that is playing such a conservative brand of football right now.

If Dean Pees lets some blitzes rip, then sure it will make it easier for those guys but right now there is a clear and evident difference in play when they are out there.
