7. Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)

The Philadelphia Eagles played just about as badly as you could imagine on Sunday Night Football, but still had a chance to beat the Atlanta Falcons late in the game.

Carson Wentz drove his team down the field late in the fourth quarter down 17-12, and the Eagles found the end zone and added a two-point conversion to take a 20-17 lead. Philly’s heart was ripped out a few plays later, after Julio Jones got loose on a screen and took it to the house for a 54-yard score.

Wentz had one last opportunity with just over two minutes left. Overcoming a few drops, Wentz connected with Nelson Agholor on a big play that set the Eagles up in Falcons territory. It came down to a fourth down situation in the red zone, and while Wentz connected with Zach Ertz on the play, the Eagles tight end fell one yard short, which helped Atlanta secure the win.

It’s a tough road loss for the Eagles in what was a poor game for the team’s offense overall. Philly will look to rebound in Week 3 in a home game against the Detroit Lions.
