23. Oakland Raiders (1-1)
John Gruden’s squad was having a great season for the first five quarters of 2019. The Raiders were coming off an emotional Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos and jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after one quarter of play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Then, Patrick Mahomes happened.
The young signal-caller blew the doors off the Raiders defense in the second quarter, tossing four touchdown passes, two of which went to Demarcus Robinson. The Chiefs showed no ill-effects of not having Tyreek Hill on the field.
While the Raiders did get off to a fast start, Gruden and Co. saw their offense stall completely and didn’t score a single point in the final three quarters. This Oakland team is obviously not equipped to handle a track meet with arguably the best offense in the NFL.
Oakland will play its first road game in 2019 in a Week 3 tilt against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings game will be the second of what is a tough six-game stretch for the Raiders.
