Tennessee Titans should call the Miami Dolphins about these potential trades

Davon Godchaux, NT

I actually wrote about this before the preseason ended and I feel almost exactly the same way now:

"SEC fans will remember Godchaux as the DT who had 6+ sacks in back to back years at LSU and seemed like he was poised to be a big time riser before his final season in Louisiana. After being selected in the 5th round in 2017, Godchaux hit his stride as a run defender with the Dolphins last year and could be a nice cheap upgrade to guys like Matt Dickerson and Brent Urban who haven’t been consistent this preseason. With interesting decisions coming up this offseason with Daquan Jones and Austin Johnson, having a cheap defensive tackle on the roster under contract for 2020 is quietly very important."

The biggest difference is that I feel like Jones has looked really good throughout the preseason and into Week 1 as well. Still, Austin Johnson and Matt Dickerson aren’t threatening many people on the offensive line so why not attempt to boost that unit?

Isaiah Mack is a good prospect and he played a decent amount on Sunday, still though I like what I have seen enough from Godchaux to bring him in and to waive Dickerson or Johnson and think about having Mack on the inactive list last in the season when Jeffery Simmons comes back if they think they need one of the taller guys like Dickerson or Brent Urban in for some reason.
