Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver A.J. Brown has gotten a ton of praise after his stellar NFL debut in Week 1, particularly from Pro Football Focus.

Tennessee Titans fans weren’t the only ones who were impressed with rookie wide receiver A.J. Brown, as the Ole Miss product received a rave review from Pro Football Focus.

Brown totaled three catches for 100 yards last Sunday, and made two impressive catches of 47 and 51 yards, respectively. To say it was about as good a debut as the Titans could have ever hoped for would be right on the money.

For his efforts, Pro Football Focus graded Brown as the No. 2 rookie receiver after he posted a grade of 86.9.

Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus thinks Brown looks like a No. 1 receiver already, and he believes Brown will be the Titans’ top option “sooner rather than later.”

In evaluating Brown, Renner notes that there are three boxes a young receiver must check in order to make the leap to the NFL.

"Though there’s a difference, at wide receiver, between racking up free yards on screens or sitting in zones versus actually beating single coverage. The latter is a far more valuable ability at the NFL level, and if you’re looking for breakout candidates at receiver, find guys who can do that. After one game, all signs point to rookie wideout A.J. Brown having that ability. It’s not simply the box score totals or the highlights, either. Brown has a hold of some of the “little things” that are needed to produce at the receiver position in the NFL. If I could boil down the main struggles of young wide receivers transitioning from college to the NFL, they would be:1. Beating press coverage2. Getting free on route breaks3. Being on the same page with QB for route adjustments"

Renner rightfully believes that analyzing the third is hard to do if you’re not a Titans coach, but he feels the first two have already been accomplished by Brown in Week 1 — even when he wasn’t catching the football.

He also lauds Brown for his “run-after-the-catch ability,” which we certainly saw on the 51-yard grab when he turned on the jets and exploded across the field, while also having time to rudely reject a would-be tackler with a mean stiff arm.

If you want to be giddy, I suggest checking out Renner’s article in its entirety. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Also, Bleacher Report’s Chris Roling listed Brown as a rookie who already looks like a “future star.”

Brown has gotten his NFL career off to a great start, but this Week 1 showing will mean nothing if he can’t keep it going. The Titans get the Indianapolis Colts at home on Sunday in Week 2.
