Indianapolis Colts offense: Deon Cain, WR

The Colts offense is going to do its best to flow through the running game, T.Y. Hilton and play action passes to the tight ends. With how their OL has held up as a whole and the QB they have, that is probably a good idea.

However, the Titans coaching staff knows that and should be planning for it. Tennessee’s DBs did a great job limiting the Browns WRs from wreaking havoc and they were unquestionably more talented than what the Colts have.

So, you can expect a lot of Malcolm Butler on T.Y. Hilton with some mixing and matching of coverage. The question is, if the Titans take that away, can Deon Cain step up and make a play?

Last week Cain had two catches on two targets, one for 10 yards and the other for 25 yards. While the big play came against the backup CB Brandon Facyson, the other came against Casey Hayward, who is no joke.

With Kelvin Benjamin out for the season, the Colts depth at WR is rough to look at. It is going to have to be more volume to Cain or more passes to the TEs and RBs.

If the Colts want to have any chance at dictating the pace of this game, they are going to have to ask Cain to win one on one battles with either Logan Ryan, Adoree Jackson or Malcolm Butler and honestly that is a monumental ask.

Still, if he can win those matchups it makes the Colts two dimensional and dangerous.
