The most intriguing free agent

Those other names make the most sense because you know exactly what you are getting and you can just plug and play those guys behind Dion Lewis if that is what you want.

However, like I said I don’t know if Lewis is going to reach his potential in Tennessee based on what we have seen from him and he might be someone that intrigues other teams enough to inquire about him based on what he looked like last year and his resume before that.

So, if the Titans do want a real RB2 upgrade the most intriguing name on the free agency list is obviously Jay Ajayi.

Ajayi is only two years removed from a Pro Bowl season and he had a solid season in Philadelphia last year before a season ending injury.

While there are concerns about his long term health, the fact is that he is a 26 year old running back who has averaged 4.5 yards per attempt over the last three years. You aren’t going to find a lot of those guys on the free agent market right now.

The addition of Ajayi would give them a running back who was just in a zone heavy scheme (Eagles) and did well in it. That means that you could probably slate him in as the RB2 and let Lewis fill in on some of Fluellen’s special teams duties if you wanted.

This makes the Titans should make them better long term if you feel confident about Ajayi’s health.
