Tennessee Titans need to sign a running back in the next 24 hours

Easy answers
If the Titans are trying to go with the easiest answer, they have a couple of ways they could go.
Obviously re-signing Dalyn Dawkins gives them the player they thought would be the most ready in a situation exactly like this. If they went that route they could even cut Aaron Stinnie if they looked at Nate Davis (who practiced fully) and thought he was healthy enough and caught up enough to go.
Another option is Jeremy McNichols who was outstanding all of preseason and showed the versatility to catch, run and play special teams. Not only do I think he could be brought back, but I think he deserved to make the initial roster.
McNichols gives you a solid compliment to the current running game and might quietly beat out Dion Lewis for snaps even when everyone is healthy.
The other no brainer is to bring back Akeem Hunt. Blink and you might have missed it, but Akeem Hunt was actually on the roster in the preseason if you can remember.
Hunt was quietly solid and didn’t have a fumble or any penalties or anything that would leave a bad impression with the coaching staff. He is also similar to David Quessenberry who made the roster in part because he has some ties to Head Coach Mike Vrabel.
If their relationship was good enough for Vrabel to bring in Hunt in the preseason, maybe it would be good enough for him to come back for spot duty. Hunt did actually play pretty well with 11 carries for 55 yards including two 10+ yard runs.
